I've read so much more about induction, especially about using castor oil to induce labor that I am much more skeptical than before. Now I am pretty sure that the truth about castor oil is definitely somewhere in between. It can help, but doesn't have to. It can help physically to push the little one out if you are at the very end of your pregnancy but the baby is stalled for unknown reason. However, even if you are dilated a bit and a bit thinned out it doesn't have to help! If you can wait, then woman, please wait. Especially if your doctor said the same.
There is unfortunately not any reliable scientific proof that castor oil can help. Actually, I've read interesting blog from a woman that sounds a bit a friend of mine. She sounds angry at first, but she is actually disgusted by the fact that women so easily decide to consume castor oil to induce labor even if they are aware of possible danger. She is a bit louder than me. But she very clearly claims that you must not use the castor oil to induce labor. However, you want be bored by reading her. I'll be investigating further...

First Of All: It's Legitimate To Use Castor Oil To Induce Labor
It absolutely is one of the ways that can help you to induce labor. However, there can be some severe complications...you can read more about it in wikipedia. However, when I read the list of possible complications, I was pretty much terrified. Nobody ever mentions the odds of those. But, for example, my aunt is one of those who claims, that nothing bad can ever happen to you or your child if you decide to use castor oil to induce labor. If you firmly decided that this should be your #1 solution and you don't want to wait a minute longer, I must say that you should definitely ask your doctor first.
If you're still in, than I'll tell you a couple of ways, so that you can take most of it.
Recipe of my aunt how to use castor oil to induce labor :
Fact is that castor oil has no taste or smell. It is very difficult to consume it solely, so the solution my aunt recommends is to mix it. Her choice will tickle those that enjoy juice-vodka cocktail, cause if I cite her words "Honey, it's better to use large amounts of juice and a little bit of vodka to make you smile more, cause the thing that's going to happen will be one earthquake-shaky experience. " Actually, my aunt is not the only one that recommends this recipe (although she is the smartest aunt I know) . The proportions of juice and vodka varies, but you should ask your doctor or midwife to confirm what I told. What DOESN'T vary is the amount of CASTOR OIL and that is approximately 4 tablespoons, in almost every available recipe that I found online.
So, go for it if you find it appropriate for you.
If after all this, you find that castor oil is not your choice number one for induction, than you can try something else. I recently read interesting blog, where a couple share their personal experience how to induce labor and I find it much more appealing than castor oil. Matter of choice.
